Healthcare is a very personal topic for me because I am chronically ill. I have been in and out of doctor’s offices for my entire life, and I have had many experiences of miscommunication within those doctor’s offices.
This miscommunication has wasted time, resources, and money for me and thousands of people every day. This was a huge pain point I received during my research, so a new system of recording information and relaying it directly to doctors is what I focused on in this McKinley Health App Redesign.
The idea behind this redesign is the symptom log will allow the patient a single place to organize their thoughts and symptoms. The system also allows the patient to submit their log for an initial exam. For a working app, a generative AI would create the quiz conclusion page. This way the patient can get a more trustworthy idea of how to proceed from a verified source instead of “Doctor Google”.
The other feature of this system gives the patient autonomy and organization of their symptoms. It also gives doctors a visual of how someone feels daily. During an exam, the doctor can review logs to get a bigger picture of how the patient feels. This system also allows someone to advocate for their health even if they are not actively experiencing the symptoms of concern.
